Browser Extension

The Molley browser extension lets you capture research, save content, and interact with Molley AI from any webpage.

Why Use the Extension?

When researching competitors, reading articles, or browsing the web, you often find valuable information. The browser extension lets you:

• Save content directly to your research notes
• Capture screenshots of important pages
• Highlight text and save it with context
• Quick-add ideas without leaving your browser
• Access Molley AI for instant assistance

Installation

Chrome / Edge / Brave

1. Open Molley and click User Menu → Browser Extension
2. Click Download for Chrome
3. The Chrome Web Store opens
4. Click Add to Chrome
5. Confirm the installation
6. Pin the extension to your toolbar for easy access

Firefox

1. Open Molley and click User Menu → Browser Extension
2. Click Download for Firefox
3. The Firefox Add-ons page opens
4. Click Add to Firefox
5. Confirm the permissions
6. The Molley icon appears in your toolbar

Getting Started

Signing In

1. Click the Molley icon in your browser toolbar
2. Click Sign In
3. You'll be redirected to authenticate
4. Once signed in, the extension connects to your account

Selecting Context

Before capturing content, select where it should go:

1. Click the Molley icon
2. Choose your Company
3. Choose your Project (optional)
4. Content will be saved to this context

Capturing Content

Save Full Page

1. Navigate to a page you want to save
2. Click the Molley icon
3. Click Save Page
4. The page URL, title, and content are saved to your research

Highlight and Save

1. Select text on any webpage
2. Right-click and choose Save to Molley
3. Or click the Molley icon and click Save Selection
4. The highlighted text is saved with the source URL

3. Select the area to capture (or full page)
4. Add notes if desired
5. The screenshot is saved to your research

Quick Ideas

Found something that sparks a feature idea?

1. Click the Molley icon
2. Click Add Idea
3. Enter a title and brief description
4. The idea is added to your Feature Ideas backlog

Using AI from the Extension

The extension includes quick access to Molley AI:

1. Click the Molley icon
2. Click Ask Molley
3. Type your question
4. Get AI assistance with context from the current page

Example Uses

• "Summarize this article"
• "How does this compare to our product?"
• "What features are they highlighting?"
• "Extract the key points from this page"

Settings

Configure Defaults

1. Click the Molley icon
2. Click the gear icon
3. Set your preferences:
   • Default company and project
   • Keyboard shortcuts
   • Notification preferences

Privacy & Permissions

What the Extension Accesses

• Active tab — To read content you want to save
• Storage — To save your preferences locally
• Cookies — To maintain your login session

What We Don't Do

• We don't track your browsing history
• We don't access tabs you haven't interacted with
• We don't sell or share your data

Troubleshooting

Extension Not Working

1. Make sure you're signed in
2. Check that the extension is enabled
3. Try refreshing the page
4. Restart your browser if needed

Content Not Saving

1. Verify you've selected a company/project
2. Check your internet connection
3. Ensure you have permission to save to that project

Can't Sign In

1. Clear the extension's data
2. Sign out of Molley in your browser
3. Sign back in to both
